We are proud of our hospital and we are eager to provide you and your pet with the highest quality medical care and services. In operation for more than 30 years, Poster Animal Hospital has earned the highest possible approval rating by the American Animal Hospital Association and we hope to attain your approval as well. Our facility is well equipped to provide hospitalization, critical care, and laboratory diagnostics for both small animals and small exotics such as rabbits and guinea pigs.

    Joan Poster, VMD

    Dr. Poster founded Poster Animal Hospital in June of 1984, upon graduation from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary
    Medicine. Before receiving her VMD, she earned an MS and PhD from City University of NY Medical School. She performed her post doctoral work at Mt Sinai Medical School as an assistant in the Dept. of Medicine. Dr. Poster is a licensed State of CT wildlife rehabilitator and has a USDA certification. She is a member of the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society and is an experienced acupuncturist. She is a member of AAHA, CVMA, IVAS, AVAA and the founder and advisor to Save Our Strays, Inc., a non profit small animal adoption group in Westport, CT. Dr. Poster is a member of CT SART and treats the K-9 Unit of Westport and Fairfield as a public service.
  • Deborah Bayazit, DVM

    Deborah Bayazit, DVM

    Originally a Weston native, Dr. Bayazit has had a lifelong connection with animals. She has been an accomplished competitive equestrian, particularly at Mount Holyoke College where she graduated in 1995. Dr. Bayazit earned her DVM at Michigan State University in 1999 and continued on to complete an intensive small animal internship program at Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center in Norwalk, CT. During her internship, Dr. Bayazit focused on internal medicine, developing specialized diagnostic skills including ultrasound. Dr. Bayazit is USDA certified, a member of the AVMA and is licensed in New York and CT. She now resides in Westport with her husband and two children.

    Carol Sandor

    Our head certified technician has been with Poster Animal Hospital for over 20 years. Carol has extensive training in dental, surgical, and critical care nursing.
